YTÜ International Students Club Website

Official platform of the International Students Club at Yıldız Technical University (UOK YTU). Designed and launched to improve visibility, streamline announcements, and support communication for a 450+ multicultural student body.

Overview

• Clean, fast Astro-based frontend focused on clarity & accessibility
• Decap CMS powered content management (non-technical committee members can update events & announcements via UI)
• Modular UI components for events, announcements, and static info pages
• Optimized SEO + social preview metadata to improve discoverability
• Performance-focused build (minimal JS, static-first) to serve international audiences with varying bandwidth

Key Contributions

• Integrated Decap CMS collections for announcements & events with safe frontmatter schema
• Architected modular component system enabling rapid addition of new event/announcement blocks without refactoring
• Built an internal content update flow allowing committee members to push changes with minimal friction (Git-backed)
• Ensured accessible color contrast, keyboard navigation, and semantic structure
• Implemented structured metadata and Open Graph tags to enhance link sharing
